Because 95% of the energy in LEDs is converted into light, only 5% is wasted as heat, unlike fluorescents, which convert 95% of energy to heat and only 5% into light. In addition to that, a typical fluorescent light can be replaced by an LED light with around half the wattage and give the same level of light. By using less energy, you are decreasing greenhouse gas emissions by lessening the demand from power plants. You will also need fewer lights because LEDs are so efficient, saving power and planet.

LED lighting will save you money

LED lighting lasts longer, which means you won’t be spending money buying endless supplies of globes – in fact, they last up to six times longer than other types of lights. Of course, because you are using lesser wattage, the price of the globes is also cheaper, so choosing to change your lighting over to LED is an excellent investment. By using less energy, LEDs last 5-10 times longer than other lighting, greatly reducing replacement costs and the number of light bulbs ending up in landfill. It makes dollars and sense.
